Our Pottery Journey – A Family Legacy in Clay

Hi, I’m Rachael, and along with my mum, Frances, we are Osborne & Osborne – a mother-daughter team with a lifelong love of clay. Mum’s been potting for over 50 years and is still going strong, creating beautiful, handcrafted pieces with her own two hands. Dad, the last living traditional brick maker in Cornwall, has worked with clay for decades too, and his deep knowledge of local materials and kiln-building has shaped the craft we continue today.

Our studio is nestled near the stunning north coast of Cornwall, not far from Newquay. We create everything from pottery to candles, using locally sourced clay dug just 20 miles from our studio – the same clay that also supplies the famous Leach Pottery. While Dad’s expertise with local clays and traditional techniques guides us, it’s Mum’s hands-on experience in the studio that brings each piece to life.

With decades of experience between us, we blend tradition with a modern touch, infusing every piece with love, care, and a bit of family history.
